Fiesta stage 5 'track essentials' Its been a while since our last update on our Fez track car, but with all the mapping out of the way its time to get it ready for the track.
Due to the amount of Intercooler testing were doing on the car, we thought it would be a good idea to have a quick release front bumper, it makes it a 30 second job now to remove the bumper.
Showing the other side with the Aero catches fitted, we kept the original studs on the bumper to help with alignment.
We had a Apexi Boost controller fitted when the new management was also fitted.
Chris todd from torque of the devil set it up for us, the controller has loads of trick displays and settings, chris set up a 3 stage boost so if we do a wet track day we can turn down the boost to give the front tyres a better chance of grip.
With any track car, keeping your self in the seat is fairly high up on your to do list ’right’ so we bought this Porshe gt3 turbo replica carbon seat, it weighs less than the original Recaro and holds you in alot better aswell.
Picture showing the Fiesta subframes being bolted on.
Once the subframe was fitted we bolted the seat in, we also fitted 2 harnesses for extra saftey.
Fiesta retains full interior for now, for how long??
We gave Burton power a call to order up a set of Gaz coil overs, once received we also gave Mark a call at Gaz to get some harder poundage springs for track use.
Mark from gaz also recommended getting some more camber on the front to help with cornering, so that meant a trip to ATSPEED Racing in Rayleigh to fit some adjustable top mounts. More on this on a later stage.
Fiesta at Brands hatch getting a shakedown session on a Ford track day.
We fitted a set of 3dr Cosworth wheels with sticky toyo 888 semi slick tyres for extra grip, also custom headlight scoop & ducting to force air onto Cosworth cone air filter.
Note the 2 missing spot lights on the bumper, we fitted ducts were they used to be and have run ducting to the Cosworth brakes to cool them down, yes it works really well.
